'Be still and know that I am God.' -Psalm 46:10
At The Lamppost, talking therapy meets creative Christian counselling. Together, we create a safe space to step out of life's rush, discover your true voice, and simply be still and know God.
Meet your counsellor
Hello, I'm Rebecca. I am a spirit-filled Christian artist, and uniquely neurodivergent. I attend a local church in Harlow, where I love to worship and connect deeply with Father God’s creative heart.
My path to counselling began many years ago with a profound calling to meet people in the 'dark places' of their journey. I believe we all walk our own distinct paths through the woods of life with God by our side, but every now and again, we simply need a Lamppost—a safe, steady marker to stop, breathe, and reflect.
While my faith is foundational to who I am and how I practice, I warmly welcome clients of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds, celebrating the rich diversity each individual brings to our sessions.
Counselling approach
I am an integrative person-centred creative counsellor: I draw on a range of models, including attachment theory, Sandtray Therapy, transactional analysis, and other creative methods, to tailor the work to you as an individual. Where words may fail, creativity can help us express what is really going on underneath the surface.
As a Christian counsellor I offer prayer, conversations based around faith and creative journal meditations to help you focus on the Bible as well as your relationship with God. I find just being able to express my anger, doubts, fears and worries within the safe space of the therapy room, has helped me to get closer to God. God loves honesty and wants to draw close to us no matter what we are feeling. We just need to give him space.
I am a registered member of a professional counselling body (BACP) and work within its ethical framework. I am fully insured, DBS checked and remain committed to ongoing professional development. I also attend regular supervision to reflect on my practice so that my work stays thoughtful, ethical and responsive.
"I am not an artist or creative, is this for me?"
Of course! There is absolutely no pressure to work creatively—we are all unique. At The Lamppost, sessions are tailor-made around your preferences and what suits you best. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you are fully accepted exactly as you are.

The Story Behind the Light
My vision at The Lamppost is inspired by the wonder of Narnia—recalling the exact moment Lucy steps through the wardrobe, out of her ordinary world, and meets Mr Tumnus beneath the glow of an unexpected beacon in the snow.
I believe that life is a journey through those vast, winding woods. Some days are filled with the thrill of adventure; other times, the path grows dark, and we feel entirely lost amidst the trees.
As Proverbs 16 reminds us, 'In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.' The Lamppost stands boldly in the thick of the forest as a safe clearing to pause, look up, and give Father God the quiet space to speak His truth, healing, and direction directly into our hearts.
